The purpose and intention of the KCA are as follows:
to help meet the needs and promote the affairs of Kipahulu;
to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information;
to promote self-sufficiency and conservation;
to preserve the natural beauty and rural agricultural values of the community;
to function as a liaison with government agencies;
to promote harmony through mediation or ho'oponopono.
